Bluepoint Games received full blessing from Demon's Souls original creator Miyazaki’s for the remake and it looks to be as faithful as possible but there are a few quality of life changes.

  • Inventory weight still exists but items such as healing grasses weigh more now, this means players will not be able to hoard as many healing items.
  • Resolution is locked 4k at 30fps or variable 4k at 60fps.
  • A brand new photo mode. This mode is disabled when a player invades your world.
  • 3 invaders and 2 allies for 6 players total in multiplayer.
  • "Fractured World" mode which mirrors the entire game.
  • Utilizes the new haptic feedback in the PS5 triggers. Feel tension as you draw your bow.
  • Save and switch characters in the Nexus, allowing you to play more than 1 build.
  • Bug fixes but "memey" ones that players enjoyed remain.
  • All boss and enemy AI is identical to the original game but have redone animations and effects.

Otherwise you can expect the game to play nearly identical to the original. World tendency and difficulty is intact and just like it was before.
